Backed up by Elon Musk, Tesla is the largest market shareholder in the Electric Vehicle segment with nearly 80% of all battery-electric car registrations in the U.S in the year 2020.

Founded in 2003, Tesla is now a Billion dollar company with a market value of more than 800 Billion US dollars. Deriving its name from a Famous Electric Engineer named Nikola Tesla, the company is famous for its delivery of High Speed and High Range Luxurious vehicles.

Tesla Electric Vehicles

Commenced in 2003, it started working on its first Vehicle named Roadster which was set for production in 2009. It’s not only the Vehicles that make this company stand out, but also its Co-Founder named Elon Musk, a polymath who joined the company in 2004 by putting a large amount of funding into it and also served as Tesla’s CEO in the Past. Right now, the company manufactures 4 vehicles named Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model S, Tesla Model X, and Tesla Model Y.

Apart from these, Tesla is expected to launch its Flagship Vehicle named Roadster (2nd Gen) in the Upcoming years, and also a Truck named Cybertruck is set to go on production in 2021.

Tesla was set up to shift from Fuel based technology to a Sustainable and Eco-Friendly one for making the world a better place by saving the environment. Tesla is more of a customer-centric brand that offers a lot of vehicle customization options such as color customization, Wheel Customization, Autopilot, etc.

Tesla’s Unique Strategy

It is also the first Vehicle Manufacturer in the USA which Directly delivers its vehicles to its customers by selling online instead of going with third-party dealership options.

Tesla entered the market by building and selling its premium vehicles in the early phase, which were to be produced in a lesser number so that later on they could build and sell their affordable luxury vehicles. Also, the company doesn’t go for advertisements but instead educates people publically through events organized in malls and its showrooms.

The battery capacity of the Tesla is best among the segment, as it was the first manufacturer to use batteries containing thousands of small cylindrical lithium-ion cells which we commonly use in our day-to-day electronics. To make batteries, Tesla has now partnered up with Panasonic for the cell supply.

The continuous research and improved battery life have made Tesla deliver its Longest Range vehicle named Tesla Model S Long Range in the World which can run up to 373 miles on a single charge.

With the advancements in the output of Synchronous Motors, Tesla is also able to design a high-power output military-grade truck named Cybertruck. The best thing which makes Tesla reliable is the availability of a network of 20,000+ Superchargers in the world that can fully charge the vehicle in less than an hour by delivering power up to 150 kW to multiple vehicles.

Features of Tesla Cars

Tesla has a lot of extra features like Fully Autopilot mode which needs to be installed at an extra cost of 10,000$. Despite the High Range and being faster, it also offers entertainment features such as Playing Games, Online Media Streaming, Dog Mode, etc. which makes your journey more comfortable. Tesla became the major market shareholder globally by making vehicle sales of 499,550 units in 2020, which is almost 35.8% more than the previous year.

Unlike every vehicle manufacturer, Tesla manufactures and recycles the EV batteries at its Giga Factory. To continuously improve the capabilities of their cars, the company has established 5-year battery research and development partnership with Dalhousie University Situated in Canada. With the growing demand and the market value, the company has planned to expand to different parts of the world. While at the Beginning of 2021, Tesla entered the Indian market and is expecting great business from the country.

The “Safest” EVs

Tesla has partnered with different vehicle manufacturers to make different parts like batteries, Power trains, etc. for them. Apart from all the controversies and flaws in the system, Tesla has become one of the safest EVs in the world through continuous improvement. The Upcoming Flagship vehicle named Roadster is expected to be driven by a 200 kWh battery, which will deliver a range of 620 miles on a single charge.

Having a top speed of 250 mph, Roadster will be having an acceleration of 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds and 0–100 mph in 4.2 seconds. The company has claimed to deliver the vehicle to its customers in 2022. The company has also revealed the upcoming models of personal electric vehicles such as Tesla Cyberquad which is a quad bike All-Terrain Vehicle(ATV). With the advancement in Tesla’s technology, it has become one of the best EVs in the world.
