Tata EVision EV : The Upcoming EV Sedan

Tata Motors – one of the biggest market players in Asia has come a long way from offering Ford to buy them for a cheap price to acquiring Land Rover and Jaguar. Since the merger of Land Rover and Jaguar with Tata group, Tata motors have improved a lot with their new vehicle designs and safety standards.

Tata has debuted the Electric Vehicle market with their first production EV named Nexon which is also available in Petrol and Diesel variants. Before launching the Nexon in the Indian market, in 2018 Tata had also presented a Concept of an Electric Vehicle named E-Vision.

Apart from these, Tata has previously unveiled their H5X SUV and 45X hatchback concept at Auto Expo 2018 which are expected to be launched in the upcoming years. This Saloon is going to be one of the Flagship vehicles of Tata motors. Also, there’s not much known about the vehicle, but still, there’s a lot more to know about the new E-Vision EV. Let’s have a look at the features of the Tata EVision:

Tata E-Vision is a concept Sedan that resembles its front look to the 45x Hatchback concept, which was unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The vehicle has very sleek and thin LED Headlamps embedded at the front which looks a lot like the front of the 45X hatchback concept.

There’s a chrome line(which Tata calls it Humanity Line) below the headlamps that go all the way from the end of one headlamp to the end of another. To add to the aggressive look, the company has added 21-inch huge Diamond-cut Alloy wheel. The Side mirrors of the vehicle are very Thin and look futuristic. The design of the grab handles of the vehicle is inspired by the Range Rover Velar.

The tail light of the vehicle is also very slim which gives a sporty look to the vehicle. There’s a huge panoramic sunroof at the top of the vehicle with Tata’s triangular design pattern on it which allows more light to enter the cabin. Apart from these, a SlingShot line can be seen running on the whole of the body. Tata has proudly badged EV near the Mirror of Rear doors and embedded EVision in the back of the vehicle.

Talking about the interiors of the Vehicle, a blend of Piano Black and Wooden finish can be seen on the flat-edged Sporty steering wheel. The door also gets a mixture of both the Piano black and Wooden interior finish. The instrument console of the vehicle looks very sporty, while there’s also a secondary display in front of the Passenger Side which is inspired by Ferrari.

The interior of the upcoming Tata Evision electric car is kept minimalistic, as there are very less buttons seen on the dashboard. Tata’s Signature design triangular pattern can be seen on most of the parts like the Seat Belt clips, Seats, Speakers, etc. Also, the vehicle can be controlled through voice. More emphasis is given to natural materials such as Leather and Wood to give a sporty look to the consumers.

Comfort

Rumored to be having a low price compared to the other vehicles of this segment, this vehicle offers all the great comfort features. The seats have got a Blue colored line running on them which Tata adds to all of its electric vehicles.

Apart from this, the vehicle has got electrically adjustable seats which also offers a Massage and Heating option. All the other important features like media control, Heated Seats, etc. have been moved to the screen which can be pushed inside the dashboard when not in use to save space.

The design of the AC vents has also been improved to multiply the air output from the vents. Unlike all the other vehicles of Tata, this time the company has collaborated with some leading industry experts and come up with their high-end audio system.

This audio system has also been installed on the roof to give a rich entertainment experience to the customer. Being an EV,  due to the Powertrain, Tata Evision lacks the transmission tunnel so there’s a lot of space on offer to all the people sitting in the vehicle.

Tata E-Vision Electric Specifications

Tata EVision is built on Tata Omega’s EV derivative Platform which is derived from Land Rover’s D8 architecture. A lot has not been known about the Vehicle, but according to the features revealed by Tata Motors, the vehicle can reach 0-100kph under 7 seconds.

The top speed of 200 kph has been revealed by the Tata motors. The EVision concept vehicle is also equipped with Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) features, which will assist the driver and enhance the driving experience. Although the specifications of the Battery capacity and charging connector are not yet known, it has been told that the car will support fast charging.

Also, it has been rumored that the car is going to have an onboard “Prognostics Controller” which will automatically sense the health of the components and indicate whenever a service will be needed. There’s going to be an Energy Management System that will use different parameters to efficiently manage the energy.

Based on Tata Motors’ latest Impact 2.0 design philosophy, the new E-Vision concept EV is inspired by concept vehicles presented by Tata motors. The Car has not yet launched and is going through a lot of advancements.

Tata EVision EV Price and Range *

Also, it is expected that the Car might be produced as a Low-Volume Electric Niche vehicle. There are a lot of rumours about this vehicle as it is expected that it can deliver a range of 300 Km on a single charge. Also, it is rumoured that the vehicle will be launched at a Price Tag of around 33,500 Us Dollars(25 Lakh Indian Rupees). Some rumours also suggest that the vehicle will deliver a range of 1000 Km, which sounds practical.

Since the company hasn’t made any hint about the pricing and the range of the EVision, so it’s very difficult to predict the range of the vehicle. But apart from these rumours, it is sure that if this vehicle will ever be set on production at a decent price, then it will become a huge hit.
