The same applies to the company named Rivian, which was founded in 2009. Till now, it is the first company to offer World’s first production-ready 4×4 Electric truck which proudly carries the name Rivian R1T.

Unveiled in 2018 at LA Auto Show, the truck has entered production in 2021 and is ready to be delivered to the customers. They built this truck to offer you the best Off-road Adventure experience, hence it has a lot of amazing features. Let’s just look at the specifications and features of the truck.

Dimensions
The new Rivian R1T has got a length of 217.1 inches, a height(including Antenna) of 75.7 inches, a Wheelbase of 135.9 inches, and a width of 81.8 inches, which gives it a massive road presence.
Aesthetics and Exterior
Talking about the Aesthetics of the Vehicles, it is available in 9 different colors, named LA Silver, Glacier White, Red Canyon, Midnight, Rivian Blue, Limestone, Forest Green, EI Cap Granite, and Compass Yellow.
Apart from the color variants, the exterior of the vehicle looks pretty cool, like any other truck, while the front of the truck makes it stand out. The front has got Capsule Shaped LED Headlights and above these headlights sits the nice and long LED light strip that runs from one end to another.

At the back also, the Truck has a strip of LED Brake lights that runs from one side to another. Since it is an off-road vehicle so it has also got great protection for the lower part and the motor as well.
Apart from all these, the vehicle has also got a Panoramic sunroof which will give a 360° view to the Passengers. Also, the company is set to offer a detachable sunroof from 2022. Keeping all this aside, the best thing about the truck is that it makes a chirping sound while we lock or unlock it.
Interior
Since the Truck is going to be offered in two Build options so both variants have slightly different interior options. The Adventure includes perforated vegan leather seats with patterned stitching, Compass Yellow accents throughout, and natural-grained ash wood finishes.
Here in this Adventure Build Variant, the company offers the truck in two variants, which are a Black Colored Interior theme called Black Mountain and a White-colored theme called Ocean Coast. For more natural feels, the customer can also opt for Forest Edge Interior Scheme for an extra cost of $2,000.
Explore Package offers a sport interior that includes vegan leather seats with performance stitching and matte black finishes. In this Explore package, two interior color options are available to choose from, which are Black Mountain and Ocean Coast. The major difference between both the Build variants is the wooden finish, which is not available in Explore Package.

Apart from this, the Truck has got a 5-seater Decent Seating arrangement which offers great comfort. The steering has got a wooden finish in the Adventure Variant while it holds the essential controls. All the other features can be accessed from the large touch screen which sits proudly on the Dashboard and also it has got the LTE and Wi-Fi Capabilities.
The Touch screen of the vehicle is quite responsive, but it’s not that smooth when the Camera Screen kick in. The Vehicle is fitted with a Rivian Elevation audio system by Meridian which includes 18 different speakers at multiple locations for delivering a premium experience.
Rivian R1T Performance and Battery
They equip the New Rivian R1T Truck with a Quad-motor setup that delivers instant power and independently adjusts torque at each wheel for precise traction control in all conditions.
The Quad motor setup includes two different motor units- 415 hp units for the front wheels while 420 hp units for the rear wheels. All these motors work in sync to provide great and balanced output. These motors can drive the vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds while the towing capabilities sums to 11,000 lbs.
This truck is currently available in one Variant with the Large Battery Pack, which offers 314 miles, while the other one is a Max Pack which will offer 400+ miles of range on a single charge. But the Other variant offering 400+ miles will be available from 2022 and will also cost an extra $10,000.

This huge battery pack supports a DC fast-charging up to 200 kW. We can charge the battery of the truck with a standard charger provided with the vehicle, which will fully charge the vehicle in 6-8 hours. They provided the vehicle with a J1772 charging port, which is available near the headlamps.
Also, the company is expecting to set up an extensive network of fast chargers in the USA and Canada in upcoming years. Also, the fast chargers will be available nearby Natural Parks and adventure sites.
Space
Since Rivian R1T is a truck so it has got a lot of space on offer. Also, the lack of an engine makes it offer a lot more space. Talking about the space, the Rivian R1T has got 11 cu feet volume of Front trunk. While the back has got a bed width of 51.1 inches and a length of 54 inches with a tail up and 84.6 inches with a tail down. This truck has also got an 11.6 Cu ft. Gear Tunnel, which can be accessed from both sides.
Wheel Options
The Truck comes fitted with 21″ Road Wheels but there are multiple wheel options available for the Rivian R1T. Ranging from 20″ to 22″, different terrain tires can be installed at an extra cost. The truck comes with a full-size extra spare wheel that sits beneath the rear trunk bed.

Rivian R1T Features
Firstly talking about the in-cabin features, the Truck has a touch screen that offers LTE and Wi-Fi capabilities, Bluetooth Pairing, Alexa voice commands. Apart from this, the cabin has got a Wireless Charging Feature, 6 USB, 4 120 V power outlets.
Also, it offers a Bluetooth speaker which sits under the center console. The Trunk of the vehicle has also got two 120V Power sockets and also a tire compressor system. It has also got a Driving Assist feature which includes Highway Assist, Automatic Cruise Control, and Lane Change Assist.
Additional Accessories
One of the best things about this Truck is the Gear Tunnel which can be used to store long rods of Tents or anything else. The company also offers a modular Camp Kitchen Option in which, the Gear Tunnel will be fitted with a two-burner induction Cooktop, 4-gallon water tank, pump, collapsible sink, and spray faucet are our answer to the dishwasher.
All these apparatus will fit inside the Gear Tunnel and can be dragged outside when needed. Apart from these, the kit will include full cookware set from Snow Peak. Form-fitted, cork-lined drawers will include a 3-piece nonstick cook set, prep tools, water kettle, coffee grinder, dishes, flatware, and insulated mugs for four.
The camp kitchen also comes with conveniences like a towel bar and bag holder for recyclables or waste. All this can be availed at an extra cost of $5,000. Cargo Crossbars and 3 Person Tents can also be availed at an extra cost of $2,500. Other accessories include Bike Mounts, Snowboard Ski Mount, Kayak Mount, SUP/Surfboard Mount which be added at an extra cost.
Safety
Talking about the safety of the vehicle, the truck includes 10 exterior cameras that help with day-to-day and high-speed driving, while a camera inside monitors for driver alertness. Also, it is equipped with 12 ultrasonic sensors to provide 360° close-range coverage and 4 corner radars, and 1 forward radar to enable more complex maneuvers and monitoring, like lane changes and rear-cross traffic.
Besides these, they also equipped the truck with Lane Safety Features such as Lane Keep Assistance, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind Spot Warning. There’s also a Light Safety feature that automatically switches the headlights from high to low beams when a vehicle is detected ahead. Also, automatic Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Warning are available in the truck to ensure safety from collisions.

Off-road Capabilities
Since this truck is a real offroader, it has got great off-road features such as Independent Air Suspension, which lets you adjust the height of the vehicle ranging from low of 7.9 inches to a maximum of 14.4 inches. Also, the active damping feature monitors the road and driver inputs every 5 milliseconds to adjust your suspension.
Also, it has got a reinforced underbody shield of high-strength steel, alloyed aluminum, and carbon fiber composite which is engineered to absorb, deflect and distribute the force from impacts. The shield is designed for maximum protection under the most extreme off-road conditions. It is also equipped with Towing Hooks which can tow a huge payload.

The vehicle can be configured accordingly from Rivian’s official website. Also, the company is initially going to offer the Adventure variant, which will cost around $73,000. The Explore variant costing around $67,500 is going to be on sale in 2022.
