Tesla Model S Plaid Finally Delivered to 25 Lucky Reservation Holders

Finally after multiple delays, today 25 lucky reservation holders received Tesla Model S Plaid. Tesla is claiming Model S Plaid “the best car in the world” and user reviews will soon tell us the true story.

In a live delivery event, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the Plaid will get a range of 187 miles in just 15 minutes of charge. In a full charge plaid will get a range of 390 miles. The tri-motor power-train generates 1,020 horsepower. This machine has the lowest drag coefficient of any production vehicle at 0.208 cd.

The live delivery event began with Elon Musk in his black plaid jacket driving the new Model S plaid on the test track at the Fremont factory.

The new acoustic glass will make the plaid more quiet and it also features a new 22-speaker audio system with 920 watts. Additionally, the interior of the Model S Plaid reveals a new user interface (UI) and the company claimed that the console system has a computing power of the Sony Play Station 5 means very fast processing speeds, likely the fastest of any production car.

In terms of acceleration and top speed, the company claims that it can hit 60 mph in 1.99 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 9.23 seconds with a trap speed of 155 mph. The EV maker also says the Plaid can hit 200 mph. The motor’s improved power curve can maintain 1,000 hp up to a top speed of 200 mph.

Elon Musk also stated that the Plaid has a heat pump and better thermals. It achieved multiple 0-60 mph top speeds thanks to the improved thermal management system. It can also mean stretched happy days on track. The former Tesla Model S had the overheating problem on the track.

The Model S Plaid was supposed to be delivered to customers earlier this year, but there have been several delays. On stage, Elon Musk said that production would initially start with a few hundred per week, then 1,000 per week by the next quarter of this year. Currently, the starting price of the Model S Plaid is $129,990.
