After the launch of the two variants of the S1 e-Scooter, Ola Electric is looking to expand its portfolio by launching a new electric car. Though the most hyped electric scooter made by Ola Electric made great sales but had some issues with it. Now the company teased us by launching an EV in the upcoming years.
Earlier there were rumors about Ola working on a compact vehicle but the new teaser shows the vehicle, Ola’s first EV is going to be a Sedan. There are also rumors from multiple sources that Ola is also planning an electric SUV which will also be launched near the upcoming sedan.
A teaser showed the Car in Red color with the Ola logo sitting proudly on the front bonnet of the vehicle. Below the Bonnet lies a long DRL LED strip that stretches from one end to another. Ola’s Ceo Bhavish Aggarwal on Twitter invited its Electric Scooter customers to visit their Ola Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu and also posted some videos of inside the factory before the event.
Ola Futurefactory, with a 100-acre forest cover, boasts to have 10 million production capacity with more than 3,000 robots to fuel up the production. According to Ola, it is the world’s largest and most advanced two-wheeler factory.
It is going to be an Integrated facility with manufacturing with the help of most of the parts outsourced from the local vendors. According to the sources, the company is planning to set up a battery cell manufacturing plant in India with a capacity of up to 50 Gigawatt-hours. While talking about the new EV sedan, the vehicle is expected to be launched in 2023 after the setting up of a new Battery Plant.
However, as stated at the beginning there are some problems Ola Electric needs to fix before launching its two-wheeler and even four-wheelers. With a battery plant, they may solve the issue faced with batteries in their S1 scooter. So, we just can wait for more solid updates to know more about Ola Electric Cars.
