Since Hummer has already unveiled their EV which has got aggressive specifications. But now Hummer has taken the path of Electric vehicles to re-establish itself in the commercial vehicles segment also. The company GMC is set to launch the new GMC Hummer EV Pickup in the upcoming years.
Advance technology has made the company come up with an improved and large battery pack than any other electric vehicle (like Tesla) available in the market.

GMC Hummer EV Pickup
This vehicle has been made to deliver its best performance whether it is driven on the off-road track or in the city. Like the SUV there will be 4 variants (named Hummer EV2, Hummer EV2X, Hummer Ev 3x, and Edition 1) available for the pickup electric truck, whose production has started and will be delivered to the customers before 2024.
The vehicle has been unveiled in a commercial video and also physically so let’s look at what the Electric Pickup has on offer:
Form Factor
According to the company, the new Hummer EV Pickup has got a length of 216.8″(550.672 cm) and a height of 79.1″(200.914 cm) with a wheelbase of 135.6″(344.424 cm). The vehicle has got a width of 93.7″(With Mirrors) and 86.7″ (without mirrors). Also, the vehicle has got a ground clearance of 16 inches which is a pretty decent figure.
Aesthetics
Currently unveiled in the White color with Black above the Beltline, the first batch will be only available in White color. Multiple color variants will be available in the future for the upcoming variants. With Different color variants, the black colored roof will be there indicating the Electric vehicles.
Exterior
The new GMC Hummer EV Pickup has got a convertible roof and pumped body cuts which adds an aggressive look to the vehicle. The vehicle has got a front frunk (Front Trunk) space of 11.3 cu. Ft. that can store the transparent roof panels. On the front, it has got an array of LED lights in which huge Hummer Branding in Bold letters is embedded.
This LED branding array sits between the LED front headlamps. The headlights also offer a charging indication while power is plugged. The front bumper has got a massive chin guard which is visible from the front. Having a massive windshield at the front, it has got 3 wiper blades that cover the whole windshield.
There are 17 different cameras installed at the different parts(beneath the body, below Mirrors, on the Front, Back, etc.) of the vehicle body which will help the driver by providing a better 360 degrees view. On the back, it has got very unique H-shaped rectangular tail lamps. Apart from these, it has also got HEV and GMC branding at the back door.
The back door of the vehicle opens with a button installed near the rear lamps, with the key and button available with the driver. With the seats folded(60:40 arrangement), the vehicle offers Six and a half feet of space from the back of the driver seat. There’s a lunar pattern made on the floor of the boot space. As the battery pack is installed on the floor, so its has got a full underbody armour for battery protection.
GMC Hummer EV Pickup Interior and Comfort
The interior of the vehicle looks very much appealing. As the quality of materials used in the vehicle feels very comfortable and premium. The Hummer has got an Infinity roof whose panels are detachable and they can be put into the front of the frunk of the vehicle while the I bar on which the roof panels sit can also be detached and kept at the back.
The available Lunar Shadow interior in Jet Black and Taupe casts a dark appearance and is complemented by Tech Bronze accents. Durable all-weather flooring adds visual and practical appeal to the vehicle. Intergalactic travel and otherworldly landscapes inspire the available Lunar Horizon-themed Interior in Jet Black and Light Gray. Very durable material is used on the dashboard which also feels premium.
There’s a massive center console that holds space for storage and wireless charging. There is a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster that gives all the essential details of the vehicle. Besides the digital instrument cluster, a 13.4-inch sits above the AC controls. This infotainment screen holds all the controls regarding Media, Navigation, AC, etc. and it also comes with Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity features.
A subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot is also expected to come standard. The Infotainment system is paired with the Bose speakers which have got a Lunar pattern on them also. 14 speaker Bose Audio system with the Electric Vehicle Sound Enhancement (EVSE) system creates a multisensory experience since it is designed specifically for the HUMMER EV cabin.
The steering wheel has a badging of Hummer on it and it has also got audio and cruise control buttons. A camera is installed on the Steering wheel setup which continuously senses the movement of the driver while cruising.
Battery and Performance
The Hummer has installed a new battery technology named Ultium into the vehicle. According to the company, the Hummer EV will have a huge battery pack that will offer a driving range of over 350+ miles on a single charge. The pickup will support 800V DC fast-charging up to 350 kW which will nearly charge the vehicle from 0 to 100 miles range in just 10 minutes.
There are multiple battery modules fitted in the battery pack of the pickup where one module holds multiple packs of the same efficiency which collectively constitutes a large battery pack. According to the company, the EV2 and EV2X have a dual-motor setup that generates an estimated power output of 625 horsepower and 7400 pound-feet of torque.
The EV3X and the Edition 1 have a triple motor setup (one up front and two at the back) with a power output of 830 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of torque. The Pickup truck offers an acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in about 3 seconds, which is a great figure for such a huge vehicle. The vehicle can also serve as a portable power source as it can also deliver a power of 6 kW to other equipment or electrical vehicles when needed.
This Hummer EV has lots of buttons for features like AC, Cruise control, etc., and has also got physical switchgear, including a thick T-shaped shifter. There’s a rotary drive-mode selector on the center console for selecting drive modes according to the road condition.
GMC Hummer Pickup Features
The new GMC Hummer EV Pickup has got a lot of fantastic features which makes it the best electric Pickup Truck in the segment. It has got multiple off-road features such as Crabwalk in which all the 4 wheels Steer(rear wheels can turn Upto 10 degrees) making the vehicle able to diagonally at low speeds, helping the vehicle to pass through tight trails.
It has got massive 35-inch tires with an 18″ wheelbase, but 37-inch after market tires can also be installed on the vehicle. To add more it has got an Extract Mode which increases the height of the vehicle up to 6″ more to pass through the tough spots. The 4 wheel steer not only lets it crawl diagonally but also reduces the turning radius of the vehicle up to 35.4 ft. For the enhanced center of gravity, the vehicle can also be lowered up to 2″.
HUMMER EV will also be having driver-assistance technology for hands-free driving and automatic lane changing features. All HUMMER EV vehicles will include a 3-year subscription for this feature.
Also to store your luggage it has got a space at the back with a Standard Multipro Tailgate for more accessibility. Front hooks, Light Bar, roof rack system, etc. are a few of the examples of a wide range of accessories that will be available for the vehicle at an extra cost.
Connectivity
The vehicle will be able to be paired with Mobile through My GMC map which will have features like showing battery percentage, Scheduling Trips, Making Payments, information about charging stops, etc.
Apart from this, the Trailmaping feature will help EV owners to discover and navigate through offroad trails. The app will provide information about Trailmaps like difficulty, route, etc. This trailmaping can also be mirrored to the EV screen through Apple car play or Android Auto. The vehicle can be fully controlled through the app without the key.
Safety
It has got Supercruise technology along with driver assistance to help the driver while driving. Also, it has a smart lane-changing feature that kicks in while cruising. It has also got multiple widgets like altimeter, Gyroscopic Widget, compass, etc. which collects data to make the drive more comfortable and safe.

Pricing
The all-new 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup truck will be available for sale at a price range of $79,995 to $112,595 for multiple variants. Both the Hummer EV SUV and Pickup Truck are almost the same in specifications with slight changes. The vehicle has not been released yet, but the company is accepting the reservations for the vehicle through an online portal.
